
Angus Stanley King Jr is the junior United States senator from Maine, serving since 2013. A political Independent who caucuses with Democrats for committee purposes, he previously served as governor of Maine from 1995 to 2003.
Born March 31, 1944, in Alexandria, Virginia, King earned a BA from Dartmouth College and a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law. Before entering elected office, he practiced law, worked in public policy, and founded Northeast Energy Management, a company focused on energy conservation projects.
